Trace contaminants removal from domestic water system using adsorption and ion-exchange technologies has become key water treatment technologies to meet the EPA regulations for drinking water. New adsorbent media and treatment processes are being evaluated or developed for radium, arsenic, perchlorate, iron, and manganese removal from groundwater. A combined simulation and experimental study is being performed to develop an accelerated method for quick screening of adsorbents for potable water purification.
